TCU runners compete in Gerry Smith Invite
More than 50 teams and close to 400 runners competed in the Thursday, Sept. 5 Gerry Smith Invitational at the Montgomery Golf Club.
The Tri-City United girls team placed 16th among the 25 full teams, scoring 382 points. Waconia won the race with a score of 61. Belle Plaine placed second with 1226 and Mound Westonka was third with 157.
Senior Yasmin Ruiz led the Titans with a 13th place finish in 20:27. Fairmont senior Macy Hanson won the race in 18:20.
Junior Kaylee Gogerty place 86th (23:28), freshman Taylor Engel placed 91st (24:00), eighth grader Mara Livingston placed 101st (24:28), senior Megan Marek placed 120th (25:20), and junior Lillian Rondorf placed 133rd (26:10).
Nova Classical Academy won the 29 team boys title with 72 points. Placing second was Belle Plaine with 131 points, Waconia placed third with 135 points, and Mankato Loyola-Cleveland placed fourth with 138 points. TCU finished 23rd overall with 546 points.
Junior Grant Fitterer was the Titan’s team leader, placing 30th in 18:05.
Freshman Gabriel Coryell placed 105th (20:18), junior Peter Robrahn placed 121st (20:52), eighth grader Grayson Moon placed 151st (21:47), seventh grader Patrick Duchene placed 161st (22:10), junior Isaak Worm placed 16th (22:37), and sophomore Cowen Bruzek placed 173rd (23:26).
TCU will compete Friday, Sept. 13 at Gustavus Adolphus College and at NRHEG Tuesday, Sept. 17.
