Titans earn All-Conference honors for winter sports

Thirteen Titans from Tri-City United Titans have earned recognition by the Minnesota River Conference for their performance during the winter sports season.
Boys Basketball
Jonathan Hurd is a senior at TCU High School. Hurd played the position of wing/post during the season. According to his coach, Hurd has been a three-year starter, captain, hard worker, great teammate.
“He missed roughly ten games this year due to injury, but when in the line-up, he was the team’s best performer,” said Coach Kyle Johnson. “His ability to play inside and outside (35 percent from three-range) was a great asset to the team.”
Hurd averaged 12 PPG, 6 RPG, shot 52 percent FG and had 1 steal and assist per game.
Wrestling
The TCU Wrestling Team has six athletes named All- Conference, and one who received Honorable Mention.
The first Titan to receive All-Conference is junior Chris Johnson, who wrestled in the 126-pound weight class. Johnson is noted as a two-time All-Conference performer. He also received Honorable Mention as a ninth grader.
Johnson has a current record of 22-11. The son of Jeff and Peggy Johnson also participates in football and baseball.
