Torchlight Parade is cancelled
In an announcement Tuesday on the Montgomery Torchlight Parade and Firework's social media page, organizers stated the Holidazzle-like event will be canceled in 2020. They said it is due to "the pandemic restrictions by our state government."
"We would like to thank everyone for your support of this event. Unfortunately after careful consideration due to the pandemic restrictions by our state government we have no choice but to cancel the parade and fireworks for 2020" the post stated.
Organizers plan to continue the Medallion Hunt and the lighting contests for both residential and businesses this year, stating that more information will be available in a few weeks.
Montgomery's popular winter event was originally scheduled to be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
"We hope you will continue your support and participation in 2021. Save the date December 2, 2021," the statement read.
