Body found in Montgomery pond
Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason reports that on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 shortly after 7 p.m. a man’s body was found in a pond in Montgomery.
Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Montgomery Police Officers responded to a residence located on 14th Street NE, east of CR 3. Mason reports the homeowner called 911 and reported there was someone in the pond located on their property.
Rescue personnel responded to the location and located a male subject floating face down in the pond.
“The subject was removed from the water and brought to shore, where he was pronounced deceased,” Mason stated.
Deputies identify the male as Alex Matthew Pettman, 49, a resident of Sunrise Farms, a residential facility for older adults who require assistance. The facility is located northeast of Montgomery.
Pettman’s body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiners for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Agencies responding to the incident included the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery Fire and Rescue and the Montgomery Ambulance Service.
