Adapted Floor Hockey teams starts with four wins

The New Prague Adapted Floor Hockey team has started its 2022 season with great success, winning their first four games.

The Trojans opened with the South Suburban Jets and defeated them, 13-1.

“We came out with a really strong start, got up 5-0 after the 1st period and were in control from there,” Coach Jeremy Kalal said. “Our defense was solid, allowing only 13 shots on net throughout the entire game. We felt great about starting our season with a solid all around game.”

Goals: Dylan Raaen (2), Elliot Soukop (2), Ray Parker (3), Shane Friedrich (3), Trystan Seger (1), Evan Minar (2).

Assists: Dylan Raaen (2), Evan Minar (2), Ray Parker (1), Carter Tupy (1).

In their second game, the Trojans defeated Owatonna, 12-2.

“We got off to another fast start against a team that is rebuilding and our starters were able to get us up early and we were able to give all of our players significant time to get an idea of what Varsity Floor Hockey is about,” Kalal said.

New Prague shut out the Dakota United Hawks, 8-0, in their third game. Aaron Adamson had four goals and Landon Malecha made all 10 saves in goal.

“We knew going into this game that Dakota United would be one of our tougher teams that we face throughout the conference schedule and our defense came to play. We were able to control the flow of the game from the drop of the puck,” Kalal said. “Our wings played really well and were relentless on offense. We were able to control every aspect of the game and never gave Dakota United a chance to get going. If we play like we did in this game, we will be hard to beat as the season progresses.”

In their fourth game of the season, the Trojans defeated South Washington, 12-1. Dylan Raaen had four goals to lead the team.

“This was another game where we were in control from the start. We are coming along as a team with a lot of players contributing both offensively and defensively. We feel really good about where we are at with a huge test coming up in our next game against Burnsville/Lakeville/ Farmington as the only other undefeated team,” Kalal said. “Our kids are ready to go and are looking forward to a close game. We feel great about how we've been playing and we are proud of the work our kids have put in to get to this point.”
