Adapted Trojans win 2

The New Prague Trojan adapted floor hockey team claimed a pair of victories last week, against South Suburban and Dakota United.

Trojans 12, Jets 0 New Prague hosted South Suburban Tuesday, Feb. 12, and scored a 12-0 win.

"We were very happy just to get a game in with all the weather cancellations we’ve had this year," said Coach Shellie Kriha. "And we were thrilled to be able to come out so strong against South Suburban."

New Prague had six goals in the first and three each in the second and third periods.

Evan Minar had three goals for New Prague, with Dylan Rahn getting three goals and an assist and Seth Dorner two goals and an assist. Aaron Adamson and Mason Rahn each had one goal and Blake Perry had an assist.

"Our defense was very strong today and we will be looking at our defense as one of our best parts of our game as the season progresses," Kriha said. She singled out Perry and Jordan Benjamin for playing strong games.

"Those two will carry the majority of the defensive work for us this season," she said. "We felt very comfortable with them back there."

Trojans 11, Hawks 2 New Prague travelled to Eastview High School in Apple Valley Wednesday, Feb. 13, for a game against Dakota United and came home with an 11-2 win.

The Trojans led 6-2 after one period and added three in the second and two in the third.

Garret Gagner led the Trojans with three goals and an assist. Evan Minar had three goals, Dylan Rahn two goals and an assist and Seth Dorner two goals. Aaron Adamson added a goal, Jordan Benjamin had two assists and Blake Perry one.

Weather permitting, the Trojans were scheduled to face Winona at home Tuesday, Feb. 19, and South Washington County at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. They are on the road at St. Paul Humboldt Thursday, Feb. 21, and at Owatonna Friday, Feb. 22.

Next week’s schedule has the Trojans hosting Stillwater Tuesday, Feb. 26, and Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville on Wednesday, Feb. 27. New Prague travels to Minneapolis Edison Thursday Feb. 28.
