Lonsdale sweeps Veseli in DRS baseball

Only a handful of games in the DRS Amateur Baseball League were played over the past week. Veseli played three games, including a pair against Lonsdale.

The Aces defeated the Warriors, 8-6 Sunday, July 3 and 13-0 in eight innings Monday, July 4. Veseli also was defeated Wednesday, June 29, 8-5 by Montgomery.

Also Wednesday, New Prague edged Webster, 4-2. Jayce Luna pitched six shutout innings and struck out 11. Paddy Timmer had two hits and scored the first run of the game on a triple by James Fuerniss. Will Arndt added an RBI double and Timmer had a pair of RBI. Peter Tveite took the loss for the Sox.

In a non-league game June 29, Union Hill defeated Morristown, 22-5 in seven innings. Peter Lim was 3-for-3, Jack Giesen was 4-for-6 with seven RBI, a home run, and a double. Conrad Masberg also hit a long ball. Charlie Otteson allowed three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.

St. Patrick defeated Shakopee, 22-2 in seven innings June 29. Kal Brohmer, Jack Friedges, and Jace Westman each had four hits. Westman knocked in four runs and hit a home run. Matt Ambroz, Brayden Manning, and Ryan Friedges also had multi hit games.

In Montgomery’s win over Veseli, Ted Christian pitched the first six innings to get the win. Johnny Krocak picked up the save. Krocak, Mike Flicek, Tom Flick, and Aaron Dwyer each had two hits. Luke Shepard was 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored, and an RBI for Veseli.

Phil Tisdel pitched six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits for Lonsdale July 3. Isaac Pint got the win, allowing one hit and striking out five in three innings. Ross Beumer went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Marty Kalina and Chad Vosejpka added two hits. Eddie Sirek had two hits and Corey Friedges had a home run for Veseli.

Joe Sabal pitched a complete game for the Aces July 4, allowing three hits and striking out three. Connor Crabtree had two hits and Devin Vosejpka was 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Eddie Sirek, Matt Perkinson, and Beau Brantner had the three Veseli hits.
