Miss Lonsdale to be crowned August 6
Lonsdale will crown its newest Miss Lonsdale and name new ambassadors in the Lonsdale Coronation on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at TCU Lonsdale Elementary School. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The new Miss Ambassadors who are up for the title of Miss Lonsdale are Hannah Reis and Andra Sherman. Reis is the daughter of Michelle and Dion Reis. Sherman is the daughter of Jason and Jenny Sherman.
Reis previously ran as a junior contestant in the Miss Lonsdale Ambassadors program, and although she didn’t win, she said she wanted to try again since she’d always wanted to be a Miss Ambassador.
Sherman previously served as a 2016 Junior Ambassador. She stated in her candidate summary: “I loved not only going to parades and events but also helping out in my community. I loved representing Lonsdale and I would love the opportunity to do it again.”
The 2023 candidates for Junior Ambassadors are Juliette Bunnell and Brooklyn Tuma. The Junior Candidates are Lyla Mach and Lily Rasmussen. The Miss Candidate is Alli Simon.
Little Ambassadors
Juliette Bunnell Bunnell will be going into second grade at Holy Cross Catholic School in Webster. She is the daughter of John and Cecelia Bunnell. When asked why she wanted to become a Lonsdale Ambassador, Juliette stated, "It looks fun, and I want to make a difference and volun teer."
Brooklyn Tuma Tuma will be going into first grade at TCU Lonsdale Elementary. She is the daughter of Andy and Jenny Tuma. When asked why she wanted to become a Lonsdale Ambassador, Brooklyn stated, "I really enjoy meeting people and making new friends. I also want to tell others about the cool things we have in Lonsdale."
Junior Ambassadors
Lyla Mach Mach will be going into fifth grade at TCU Lonsdale Elementary. She is the daughter of Joseph and Melissa Mach. When asked why she wanted to become a Lonsdale Ambassador, Lyla stated, "I would love to become a Lonsdale Ambassador so I can be more involved in my community. I love helping others and am really excited to meet new friends.”
Lily Rasmussen Rasmussen will be going into fifth grade at Eagle View Elementary in Elko New Market. She is the daughter of Sean Schliz, Bailee Rasmussen, and step-dad Dave Benson. When asked why she wanted to become a Lonsdale Ambassador, Lily stated, "I would like to become a Lons- dale Ambassador so I can be a part of my community. I recently moved to Lonsdale during the summer of 2021 and am excited to get more involved and meet new peo- ple. I enjoy socializing and attending events. I am excit- ed to learn new things and give back to my community.”
Miss Ambassador
Alli Simon Simon will enter her senior year at New Prague High School. She is the daughter of Kurt and Tina Simon. When asked why she wanted to become a Lonsdale Ambassador, Alli stated, "I would love to become a Lonsdale Ambassador so I can help out my community, meet new people and be a role model for others. I would also love to go see surrounding towns and tell them more about my community."
