Bernice A. Lambrecht, 99

Bernice A. Lambrecht, age 99 of New Prague, died on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center in New Prague, MN.  She was born on August 5, 1918 in Sully County, South Dakota.  She attended rural schools in Agar, South Dakota, and finished nursing school, in Pierre, becoming a registered nurse.  She answered an ad looking for a Czech speaking nurse and found her way to New Prague, MN.  She married Elmer Lambrecht on April 22, 1941.  The couple made their home on the family farm where they raised their nine children.  They loved to travel and were very involved in their local 4H. Bernice worked full time as a night nurse at Queen of Peace Hospital for 47 years. During the day, she worked on the farm taking care of the animals, cutting and hauling wood. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.  She helped with Meals on Wheels and other giving organizations through her church and community. Bernice worked hard her entire life, but she also loved to have fun.  She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and canning from her large garden. She is remembered as a loving and caring woman who would never say no.
Bernice is survived by her children: Francis (Anita) Lambrecht of Henderson, MN; Mary (Dave) Lax of Owatonna, MN; Therese (Don) Hlavac of Heidelberg, MN; Margie (Bob) Jacobson of Waterville, MN; Marty Boman of St. Cloud, MN; Elmer Jr. (Vicki) Lambrecht of New Prague, MN; Ginny Knauer of Eden Prairie, MN and Pauline Lambrecht of New Prague, MN; as well as 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Catherine West of Highmore, South Dakota, and sister-in-law, Rosemary Lambrecht of New Prague, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 2003, and son, Billy (in infancy); son-in-law, Gary Boman; three grandchildren: Jamie, Matthew and Jon, and a great-grandson, Billy; two siblings, Agnes and William. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, MN.  Visitation will be at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 7:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.  Following Mass, burial will take place in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in New Prague. Lunch will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall in New Prague.
