Charles E. "Chuck" Slavik, 82

Charles E. "Chuck" Slavik, age 82, of Tucson, AZ, and formerly of New Prague, died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023.  Chuck was born May 17, 1941, in Saint Paul, MN to Stanley and Catherine “Kay” (Schloesser) Slavik.

Chuck graduated from New Prague High School and soon after entered the US Army, where he trained as a military vehicle mechanic.  After being Honorably Discharged, he began working at Continental Machines in Savage, MN, where he worked as a hydraulic mechanic for nearly 40 years. 

Chuck married Elaine Mach of New Prague, and they enjoyed each other’s company for more than 50 years.  Both enjoyed fishing, bowling, and participating in classic car shows.  Chuck had accumulated nearly 100 car trophies while showing his classic cars in MN and AZ.  Upon retiring, Chuck and Elaine moved to Tucson, AZ where they lived in a 55+ residential development for more than 20 years.  Elaine passed on June 18, 2021.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Elaine, and his father and mother. He is survived by sister Connie Fitzke of New Prague, brother Tom Slavik of Scottsdale, AZ, sister-in-law Juanita Peters of New Prague, and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Marana, AZ.
