Eileen Dolores Burns, 87

Eileen Dolores Burns, age 87, died of natural causes on November 04, 2021, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Eileen is survived by her son  ,Thomas Burns, of  Aitkin, Minnesota; daughter, Shivaun Burns Allan, of Lonsdale, Minnesota; grandchildren Megan (Justin) Anderson, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Katy (Tristan) Michaud of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Sean (Christina) Koehn of Belle Plaine, Minnesota; Kevin Burns (Cassie Flanagan) of Deerwood, Minnesota; great-grandchildren Max Anderson, Quinn Michaud, David, Edward and Josephine Koehn; brothers Donald and Kenneth Wolff; sister-in-law Harriet Wolff; and Wolff and Burns nephews and nieces.  Eileen is preceded in death by her parents William and Catherine Wolff, infant sister, beloved spouse Edward R. Burns, eight sisters-in-law and seven brothers-in-law.

Eileen was born on March 25, 1934 in Mankato, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Catherine Cullen Wolff and William A. Wolff, Madison Lake, Minnesota. She lived in Madison Lake, Minnesota area and attended school at All Saints School and Good Counsel Academy, graduating from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science, Nursing.  

Eileen married Edward R. Burns, her “Valentine Sweetheart” on February 14, 1957 in Madison Lake, Minnesota.  Eileen and Edward lived in rural New Prague, Minnesota and she worked as the nurse and Health Coordinator for New Prague School District #721 for many years. She also worked Private Duty, Hospital and Occupational Health Nursing.  She volunteered in the field of Chemical Dependency for many years at St. Mary’s-Riverside Hospital. The couple had two children together and celebrated an amazing sixty-three-year marriage together in their homes in New Prague, Minnesota and Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

A Secular Franciscan, she loved God, family and many friends from many states.  Eileen and Edward were founders and serving Franciscans of Havasu in the St. Joan of Arc Fraternity of Secular Order, Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Community, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.  Her many hobbies and deep appreciation of all nature helped her to enjoy and love life. Her adventurous spirit and passion for travel led her to lead Edward to travel destinations all over the world.

 She will be remembered lovingly as witty, outgoing, feisty and always giving to others with a determined sense of purpose, humor and honesty.

 A Celebration of Life for Eileen and Edward Burns to be held at a future date.
