ENM Council accepts audit report
The Elko New Market City council adopted a resolution accepting the independent audit report for 2017 at its Thursday, May 24, meeting.
Matt Mayer of BerganKDV, the city’s auditor, presented the report on the city’s 2017 audited financial statements. He reported that the 2017 general fund revenue had an increase in total revenues of $63,347 or 3 percent from 2016. While the council approved a general fund revenue of approximately $2 million for 2017, actual revenues for the year totaled $2.2 million. The most significant variance was in intergovernmental revenue, which had a surplus of $42,934 due to not budgeting for grant fund that were received during the year. License and permits and miscellaneous revenue also saw surpluses mainly due to conservative budgeting.
