Harold Holec, 61

Harold Holec, age 61, of Plymouth, MN, died Feb 16, 2025, at Sunrise Senior Living in Minnetonka after a long, brave battle.

Harold was born Nov 6, 1963, in New Prague, MN, to Henry E. Holec and Lucille D. Cornetet. 

He graduated from New Prague High School in 1982 and soon after, joined the Navy.  After discharge, Harold moved to the Washington DC area.

Harold liked to travel to relaxing places including Cancun, Hawaii, Key West, and other locations.  Fishing was a favorite pastime, enjoying adventures on Mille Lacs, in Canada, and on Lake Minnetonka.  He was an amazing BBQ grill master and loved cooking a juicy steak and salmon for his family. 

A devoted father of two beautiful children!  He enjoyed doing as much as he could with them! They were his world! 

He loved family events, especially at his Uncle Ken and Aunt Beth’s house on Lake Minnetonka.  

OH! Did someone say football?  Harold was an expert and his world paused when the MN Vikings played. 

 Most of all, Harold was loved by many and will be tremendously missed!

Harold is survived by his children, Juliana and Gavin Holec, their mom, Sheri Holec of Plymouth, MN; 3 siblings, Henry “Vic” (Mary) Holec of Mendota Heights, MN, Lucia Schmitz (Craig Greenwald) of Shakopee, MN,  Doreen (Fred) Ciaramitaro of Washington, MI; numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Henry E. Holec and stepmother Edith “Kitty” (Kimberlin) Holec;  Lucille D. (Esberg Holec) Cornetet and stepfather Richard “Dick” Cornetet; grandparents Henry R. & Lucille M. (Lambrecht) Holec, grandparents John V. Esberg and Anna (Kump) Esberg.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held in May.
