John C. Sheehan, 67

John C. Sheehan, age 67, of Chaska, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Hennepin County Medical Center.  John was born on July 27, 1954, in Waseca, MN to Edward F. and Lucille M. (Kreuser) Sheehan.  He grew up in New Prague, attended St. Wenceslaus School and graduated from New Prague High School.  He attained a degree in Architectural Drafting at Hennepin Technical College.  He worked for civil engineering firms and most recently as an engineer designing pedestrian bridges for Wheeler.  He married the love of his life, Lia Suzanne Roskop in November of 1980 in Denver, CO.  He remained devoted to her until her sudden death on September 15, 2010, and then transferred his devotion to his work.

  John was a hardened Vikings fan, enjoyed a good game of golf, and loved music, especially classic rock like the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. He could charm a crowd with his sense of humor and found great joy in reconnecting with his childhood friends and classmates, most recently at New Prague’s Dozinky festival.  John had a special affinity for children.  When his own were growing up, it was often John who was in the backyard playing games with the neighborhood kids and his home became known as the Kool-Aid house!  His patience made him an excellent teacher and his greatest joy came with the time spent with his family.  He will be sorely missed by them and all who knew him.

 John is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Leo) Lopez of Ben Lomond, CA; son, Pete Roskop of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Lex, Joseph, Ana, & Wyatt; sisters, Dorann Howes of Greeley, CO, Mary Ellen (Joe) Devine of New Prague, Patty (Dick) Haas of Henderson.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne; parents; brother, Terry Sheehan.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home with MaryCarol Wolf officiating.  Visitation will take place 2 hours prior beginning at 1:00 PM.  In keeping with the wishes of the family and Bruzek Funeral Home, masks are required.  bruzekfuneralhome.com
