Joyce Marie Korbel, 88
Joyce Marie Korbel, age 88 of Lonsdale, MN passed away peacefully at her home on August 15, 2022. She was born in rural Montgomery on February 11, 1934, to Theo and Florence Rynda.
She attended Saint Raphael Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Montgomery Sanitary Creamery for 6 years. On June 10, 1958, Joyce married Milton Korbel at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. She and her husband were dairy farmers in rural Lonsdale where they raised their 4 children.
Joyce was a member of IC-CCW and the rosary maker's group. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, mending, embroidery, baking Kolacky’s and especially baking pies. She is survived by her son, Joe (Karen) Korbel of Lonsdale; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Grisim of Northfield, Carol (Troy) David of Lonsdale, Amy (Tim) Oberg of Lonsdale; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Lloyd (Geraldine) Rynda of Montgomery, Milo Rynda of New Prague, Gil Rynda of Hastings; sisters-in-law Shirley Rynda of Montgomery, Dorothy (Matt) O'Connell of New Hope, Jeanette Korbel of Kilkenny; and brother-in-law, Richard Korbel of New Prague. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Milton; parents; brother, Carl Rynda; sister, Ellie Rynda; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rynda, Georgeanna Korbel and Evelyn Korbel; brothers-in-law, Donald Korbel, George Korbel Jr.
Visitation will take place from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, August 27th at the White Funeral Home, Lonsdale.
Mass of Christian burial will take place immediately following at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lonsdale, MN.
Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale.
