Mark LeRoy Orvik, 69
Mark LeRoy Orvik, of New Prague, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born on May 19,1955 in Minneapolis. He grew up in South Dakota, Minneapolis, Beltrami, and Faribault, Minnesota.
Mark graduated from Faribault High School in 1973. He graduated from Northwestern Electronics Institute where he earned an Associate in Electronics Technology in 1977.
He used that knowledge at Gopher State Truck Stop, where he was a CB repairman. He also worked at New Prague Appliance fixing TV’s, at Lowes and Walmart. His last job was at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.
Mark's passions included hot air ballooning, and tinkering on RC cars. He enjoyed going out to eat with friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy E. Orvik, his mother, Margaret E. Orvik and his sister, Jill E. Orvik.
Mark is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan M. Orvik, son Benjamin M. Roehl, daughter-in-law Kailah and granddaughter Willow.
Mark was a liver transplant recipient. He was grateful for the family that donated their loved one’s liver. It allowed him more time to live. He would have liked to encourage others to let it be known that would be doners if they could. Mark chose to let his body be used for educational purposes.
A celebration of life is being planned for Sunday, August 25, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at The Depot in New Prague, MN.
