NPHS to celebrate Homecoming Week

New Prague High School will celebrate its Homecoming week September 23-28, with the highlight being the football game against Mankato West on Friday, Sept. 28.

The week begins with the annual Powder Puff football game, to be played at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept 23. The annual game features the senior girls against the junior girls. Each day during the week will include a “dress-up” day, and other events will be held during the week.

Monday, Sept. 24, is “Woke up Like this Day,” activities include home soccer matches against Delano, with the girls playing at 5 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m. Girls tennis hosts Farmington at 4:15 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 25, is “Camo Day.” The New Prague Cross Country Invitational at the New Prague Golf Club at 4 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 26, is “Decade Day.” There will be float building for the parade at the bus garage from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 27, is Hawaiian Day. Boys and girls soccer plays at Hutchinson, with the boys at 5 p.m. and girls at 7 p.m. Girls swimming is at Dassel-Cokato at 6 p.m. and girls tennis plays in the Wright County Conference tourney in Hutchinson beginning at 10 a.m. The volleyball team hosts Delano at 7 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 28, is Trojan Pride Day. The day includes a Pepfest and coronation of royalty at 11:10 a.m., parade at 1 p.m., the game against Mankato West at 7 p.m. and the dance starting at 9 p.m. until midnight.

The week’s activities conclude with a waffle breakfast at the high school on Saturday, Sept. 29. The breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with proceeds benefitting the Trojan Club. The girls swim team competes at the St. Peter Invitational that day.

Candidates for Homecoming King and Queen will be announced later this week, and will be posted at The Times’ website, newpraguetimes. com.
