Paul A. Yackley, 76

Paul A. Yackley, age 76, of St. Paul, MN (formerly New Prague) passed away on the 20th, of October 2021 at his home in St. Paul.

Paul was born on August 23rd, 1945, the son of James P. and Loretta M. (Seifert) Yackley in Davenport, IA. He attended the St. Mary’s Mission Seminary, Techny, Il, from 1960-1961. He graduated from New Prague High School in 1963.

He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1964 and served as Catholic Chaplain's assistant at the Marine Corps Air Station in Kaneohe, HI. He was honorably discharged from Camp LeJeune, NC in 1969 with the rank of Sergeant.

He was employed by Lyngblomsten Nursing Home in St. Paul and retired after 30 years of service. Current residents and family members of former residents often complimented him on his professionalism, compassion, and respect he showed to those he cared for.

Paul is survived by daughter, Shannon (Mark) Merry of Eden Prairie; girlfriend, Marchell Johnson of St. Paul; siblings Jim (Donna) Yackley of Salisbury, MD, Vikki (Roger) Broun of Chaska, Mary Pat Yackley of Solvang, CA, and Joel (Dorri) Yackley of Belle Plaine; granddaughters Ellie and Sophia Merry of Eden Prairie.

Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Scott Yackley, Julie Yackley, Jon Broun, Haley Martin, and Anna Katz. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Don Yackley (survived by his wife Jackie Yackley of New Prague).

Paul loved to travel and was fond of trains, dogs, and his Harley Davidson. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
