Summer time

Here we are, a week where the temperatures are forecasted to give us a taste of what summer is about. This week the forecast calls for temps in the high 70s at the least, if not in the 80s and 90s. It’s the type of weather that many people want or look forward to during the colder days of winter.

I’ll admit I do enjoy the sun and warmer temperatures, mainly because it means I don’t have to worry about throwing on extra layers of clothing or at least a jacket just to go outside to check the mail when it’s sub zero temps outside.

I imagine people are going to get out more this summer than last. There will be more vacations and more visits with friends.

This year I’m hoping to get out more and with the COVID-19 regulations being relaxed I can see a few more friends and family then I did last year. Through most 2020 and 2021 so far, I didn’t go out very much unless it was connected with work. I was glad of a few friends and a couple times when I could see family.

Of course this year a change that we’ve been dealing with already is the reconstruction of Main Street. I’m frankly glad to have First Avenue NE/SE open again as it makes it a little easier to go from The Times office to other shops and places on the north side of Main Street.

Whatever you have planned for this summer I hope you enjoy it and make some memories of the warm weather so you can think of them when winter rolls around again.
