LeRoy J. Janda, 83

LeRoy J. Janda, Fargo, formerly of Waterville, MN, was crowned with eternal life, by the grace of God, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ on February 16, 2019. He died at Bethany Retirement Living on University in Fargo, ND.
LeRoy James Janda was born to Emil and Christine (Schwartz) Janda on January 21, 1936 at home in Waterville, MN. He was baptized at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville.
He attended the Rice/Le Sueur County District 90 Country School for six years. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1954. He entered the US Army July 17, 1954, serving in Germany the entire time until his honorable discharge July 3, 1957.
LeRoy was confirmed in the Lutheran faith May 19, 1968 by the Reverend Laurence Meyer at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church rural Waterville. His confirmation verse was Revelations 2:10.
He married Marlene Rose June 15, 1968 at Centennial Lutheran Church, Henderson, MN with the Reverend Henry O. Moll officiating.
He worked at various jobs before he became employed at Brown Printing in Waseca, MN in April 1965. He did 4-color separation most of the 36 plus years he worked there, retiring July 2, 2001.
LeRoy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterville, MN, serving as a Sunday School Superintendent and Elder for several years. He also was a member of VFW Post 2633. In November 2015, LeRoy and Marlene moved to Fargo, ND to be closer to their daughters. He became a member of Immanuel Lutheran, Fargo, ND.
He is survived by daughters, Shari (Vasantha) Soori, Fargo, ND; Stacey (Carlton) Heuchert, St. Thomas, ND; grandchildren, Noah and John Heuchert, St. Thomas, ND; Rose and Isaiah Soori, Fargo, ND; brother, Francis Janda, Minnetonka, MN; sister-in- law, Avonne (Gerald) Schuett; brother-in-law, Marlin (Joan) Rose; several nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Jerome and George; parents; and one grandchild.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
Burial: Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Main Street Living.
