Track team has mixed results at State
The first day of the Class A State Track and Field Meet at Hamline University provided some mixed results for the 10 WEM athletes competing. Junior MaeLea Harmon advanced into Saturday's 100-meter final with the second best preliminary time of 11.99, her best time ever. The 4 x 100-meter relay team (Harmon, Alexia Morsching, Shelby Hermel, and Toryn Richards) also advanced to Saturday's final with the third best time of 50.22. The boys 4 x 200-meter relay team (Isaac Pratt, Chris Bryne, Taylor Glende, and Jaden Taylor) won their heat and advanced into Saturday afternoon's finals with the second best time of 1:31.42. Harmon placed ninth in the long jump. Richards placed 14th in the high jump. Taylor placed 10th in the pole vault. The boys 4 x 100-meter relay team did not advance out of the preliminaries. The Class A State Finals will begin Saturday, June 9 at 3:30 p.m.
