Above is a concept plan of possible facility improvements discussed by the WEM Board of Education.

Approximately two weeks ago, the WEM Board of Education held a special meeting to discuss facility planning based on the school district's survey results. At that time, there were five options presented by Gary Benson of Kraus Anderson. The board, staying within the wishes of the district residents of not going over the $20 million budget which was outlined in the survey, directed Benson to update the concept plans and costs budgets.

During a special meeting Monday, July 23, the board was presented a building option which would include improved safety and security, updated building infrastructure, HVAC and electrical updates, ADA compliant restrooms, and educational improvements. The total cost of this new project ($19,296,875) was approximately $15 million in Waterville and $4 million in Morristown. Nearly half of these costs include replacing boilers and condensate piping, upgrading HVAC, replacing classroom univents, and  providing the schools with a better heating and cooling system in both school sites.

Other items include creating safe drop-off lanes for cars, creating secure entry vestibules, replacing fire alarms with new addressable systems, create ADA public restrooms, reconfigure portion for boys accessible changing/lockerroom, and relocating classroom in  the Morristown building.

No action was taken during the special meeting and the board  later briefly discussed the special meeting during their regular July meeting later that evening. WEM Board looks at new facility plan. A special meeting is cheduled for Wednesday, August 8 to further disucss the facility plan,
