New Prague High School will celebrate homecoming beginning this Friday, Sept. 26, with Class Color Day. There will also be the powderpuff football game Sunday, Sept. 28, Homecoming continues Tuesday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 3.
The reason for the change is this coming Monday, Sept. 29, is a staff only/professional development day, said Heather Vikla Dobias, homecoming advisor. This Friday with class color day, seniors will wear black, juniors wear purple, sophomores wear green, freshmen wear blue and staff wear gray.
The powderpuff football game Sunday, is 4 p.m. at Trojan Stadium, south of the high school at NW 100 12th Street. Powderpuff is a flag football game between the girls of the senior class and the girls of the junior class.
Dress up days
There will be dress up days next week beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30, Dobias said. Tuesday is tropical day and Wednesday, Oct. 1, is Adam Sandler day where students can dress like the actor or a character from one of his movies. Thursday, Oct. 2 is staff/student switch day where staff dresses like students and students dress like staff members and Friday, Oct. 3 is Trojan pride day.
Activities through homecoming include Shakopee Nutrition being at the high school during lunch Wednesday, selling protein shakes and energy teas as a treat, said Dobias.
Friday will be a busy day as the pepfest will be at noon in the high school’s main gym...
