Saturday’s home weightlifting duo with the Burnsville Blaze yielded three individuals qualifying for state and slug of first place finishes.
Morgan Meier qualified for varsity state competition with an automatic qualifying total (AQT) greater than 95 KG of 100 KG in the varsity girls’s 58 KG category.
Also qualifying for state competition were junior varsity lifters Annika Meier, with an AQT greater than 102 KG with a total of 104 KG in the 69 KG girls junior varsity category; and Max Rotter, with an AQT greater than 125 with a total of 130 KG in the 60 KG boys junior varsity category. Rotter is poised to do well, coming off of his run to national competition this spring.
The next lifting matchups before the state tournament on March 7 are Saturday, Jan. 10, at Lakeville North High School, and Friday, Feb. 6, at Burnsville High School.
