One of the longest running Minnesota County Fairs is celebrating its 169th year next week.

Area baseball teams in the Dakota-Rice-Scott League are off to solid starts in bids for the Minnesota Baseball Association’s state tournament beginning Aug. 21 in New Prague, Chaska, Jordan and Shakopee.

Between 30 to 40 people attended the Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2, concert by the seven members of Ameriikan Poijat (Boys of America) at the Broz Event Venue in New Prague.

Construction on a new fish hatchery facility outside of Waterville has been pushed back until 2027, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

A fire on a local farm, totally destroyed a barn used for storage and its contents Wednesday evening, Aug. 5.

    Tri-City United Titan’s Head Coach Brian Miller said, “It was a great season for the TCU Titan 10AA Traveling Baseball team who capped off the season with earning a trip to the Minnesota Baseball Tournaments (MBT)
