Rev. Norris joins St. Wenceslaus Catholic Parish

St. Wenceslaus Catholic Parish, based in New Prague, welcomed Rev. Timothy Norris to its staff beginning Tuesday, July 1.
Norris has been a priest for 31 years, most recently at Church of Saint Stephen-Holy Rosary in Minneapolis.
“I’ve known of him for a number of years,” said Rev. Eugene Theisen, pastor of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Parish. “He’s a good, holy, but quiet priest.”
“So far, it has been a lot of moving in,” Rev. Norris said. “I’ve received a warm welcome.”
He celebrated his first Mass at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Wednesday morning, July 2. “It went just fine. It was nice to see all the people there,” he said.
Rev. Theisen said Norris has already done one anointing and is scheduled to do a burial and will be performing three weddings. “He’s already hitting the ground running.”
Rev. Norris went to the University of St. Thomas, originally to become a medical doctor, but he said the Lord had different plans.
“It was a persistent feeling.” said Norris about becoming a priest.
He is the first member of his family to serve as a priest. When he told his family he planned to become a priest, “They were all surprised, but supportive.”
