She was born on August 12, 1945 in Waseca, MN to Charles and Marie (Stangler) Grubish. Mary was a graduate of Waterville High School in Waterville, MN and Mankato State University. She was employed as a Social Worker for the Lucas County Department of Job and Family Services for 28 years, retiring in 2003.

LeRoy “Pete” Wolff, was born on November 22, 1932 in rural Madison Lake to Clarence and Kathleen (Smith) Wolff. He attended school in Janesville and graduated in 1952 and then enlisted in the service following high school and was honorably discharged two years later. Pete married the love of his life, Mary Jean Phillips, on September 3, 1955 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair, MN and they were blessed with six children.
