Joyce Mary Denzer, age 77, of Blaine, formerly of Montgomery, died following a three-year courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at her home.

James Richard Boesch, age 89, of Montgomery, died on Thursday, July 3, 2025, surrounded by his family at Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Mankato.

Gloria May (Miller) Trcka, age 87, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Rose Pauline (Miller) Perteet, age 87, of Albert Lea, formerly of Montgomery, passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her home.

A Celebration of Life for Terry Kielty will be held at the Montgomery American Legion Post 79 on Saturday, July 12, from 1-5 p.m. Friends and relatives are encouraged to come and remember him with some food, refreshments, and community.

Gary James Rutt, age 80, of St. Thomas, passed away suddenly at All Saints Senior Living in Shakopee, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.  Gary was born on June 17, 1945, in New Prague, to Frank and Mary (Velishek) Rutt. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and Montgomery High School.  He met the love of his life, Shirley E. Keough, at her “sweet 16th” birthday party and they married on October 2, 1965, at St.

Shirley Ann Budin, age 81, of Montgomery, died peacefully at her home on June 30, 2025, after spending two weeks under hospice care.
She was born at home on the farm in Union Hill, MN, to Norbert and Viola Weiers on May 31, 1944. She was the oldest of 12 children. She graduated from New Prague High School in 1962. She went to beauty school in Minneapolis and got a job at Southdale Mall at Doll House Beauty. 

Marilyn M. May, age 91, of New Prague, died tragically as the result of a car accident, on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
 Marilyn Mae Prokes was the only child born to Martin W. and Adeline (Shankey) Prokes on November 23, 1933.  Her childhood was spent living above the grocery store her parents operated and playing with the neighborhood children on Main Street.  She attended St. Wenceslaus and New Prague High School.  After graduation in 1951, Marilyn and friends headed to Minneapolis to live and work.

Roberta (Bert) Jane (Leatherman) McGuiggan, age 98, passed away June 18, 2025, at Christian Community Home in Osceola, WI. Roberta was born July 22, 1926, to parents Charles and Anna (Becker) Leatherman.
 She was married to John (Jack) E. McGuiggan Jr. on December 26, 1944, and to this marriage had 10 children – 7 girls and 3 boys.

Gerald Gene Adamek, age 79, of Montgomery, died on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home in Montgomery surrounded by his loving family.

Phyllis Vosejpka (nee Kriha), age 95, of St. Paul, MN, died peacefully on June 9, 2025.  Phyllis was born April 19, 1930, in Minneapolis, and grew up in Montgomery, Minnesota.  She married Stanley Vosejpka in 1955, and they settled in St. Paul, where they raised their family and where Phyllis lived for the remainder of her life. 
Phyllis was an accomplished baker and seamstress, an avid card player and fisherwoman, and a devoted sports fan.  She was immensely proud of her Czech heritage and enjoyed both speaking and singing in Czech with the Sokol Minnesota Singers.

Steven “Steve” Lee Jakes of Williston, ND, formerly of Faribault, MN, passed away on November 29, 2024, in Minot, ND, at the age of 65. Steve will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Steve grew up in Montgomery, MN, graduating from MLHS in 1977 and by 2011, after many years in the workforce, he had settled in Williston, ND, where he enjoyed working alongside his brother, Ken.

Bonita "Bonnie" Louise David, age 80, of Le Center, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Bonnie was born on April 16, 1945, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Leo and Lorraine (Prochaska) Blaschko. She attended school in Le Center before moving to Sherburn, where she graduated from Sherburn High School. After high school, she attended beauty school and went on to work in various roles throughout her life, most notably spending 23 years with Anchor Glass Container and 15 years at Heat & Glo in Lake City before retiring.

Joan Bernice Picha, age 92, of Montgomery, died on the morning of Friday, June 6, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Larry Dean Berninghaus, age 87, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully. at his home surrounded by family on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Born on July 23, 1937, in West Bend, Iowa, Larry was the son of Edwin and Eleanor (Zinnel) Berninghaus. He grew up working and playing on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong love of the land. A talented athlete, Larry was active in football, baseball, and basketball during his years at West Bend High School.

John Richter, age 77, of Milaca, passed away on May 24, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home - Milaca, MN.
