Marietta "Toots" Kukacka, age 95, of Montgomery, died in the early morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. 

Linda Lee Herrera, age 70, of Montgomery, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at her home on Green Leaf Lake in rural Montgomery.

Marilyn Agnes Miller, age 86, of Montgomery, died at Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center in New Prague on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Jerry George Herrmann left this world peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. Jerry was born on June 25, 1938, in New Prague, MN, to Jerry and Mary (Tikalsky) Herrmann of Lonsdale. He grew up in Lonsdale, graduated from New Prague High School in 1956 and the University of MN School of Pharmacy in 1962.

Joel Edward Kukacka, age 73, of New Prague, died on the evening of Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

George "Sonny" John Pomije, Jr., age 87, of Montgomery, died on the evening of Friday, January 17, 2025, at his Traditions of Montgomery home.

Mary Jane Dahl, 92, of Fargo, formerly of Willmar, died Wednesday, January 15 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo. Arnold J. “Buck” Zahratka, age 99, of Montgomery, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery.

Helen Emma Vosejpka, 88, of Lonsdale, died peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Helen was born on March 7, 1936, in Rice County, to Joseph and Cecilia (David) Sirek. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1954. On June 16, 1955, Helen married her High School sweetheart Robert F. Vosejpka at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Gladys Christine Soulek Nickolay, age 93, of New Prague, died on Tuesday, December 31, 20204, at Traditions of Montgomery.  Gladys was born on May 3, 1931, in Montgomery, to Vendelin and Emma (Zoubek) Soulek.  She was one of seven children and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1948.  She married Charles “Rock” Nickolay on September 9, 1950, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.  Gladys and Rock celebrated 65 years of marriage shortly before Rock died in 2015.

Harriet (Schrom) Edel, age 90, of Kilkenny, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at The Moments; Memory Care & Enhanced Assisted Living in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Elizabeth "Betty" Frances Pomije, age 82, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Traditions of Montgomery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Montgomery American Legion Club on Sunday, December 29, as an Open House from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Private family services and internment will be held at a later date.
Betty was born in Le Center on October 17, 1942, to Mary Magdeline (Schloesser) and Edward Slavik Jr. Betty graduated from Le Center High School. Betty was united in marriage to George John Pomije Jr. on June 3, 1961.

Marlys Ann Hora, age 83, of Montgomery, MN, passed away at Shakopee Friendship Manor on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shieldsville, MN, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Timothy Sandquist officiating with visitation an hour prior. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery at a later date.

Steven Jakes passed away on November 29, 2024 in Minot, ND, at the age of 65.
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

David Patrick Holicky, age 77, of Le Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Bayside Manor in Gaylord. Prior to that he lived at Pheasants Ridge Memory Care in St. Peter. Dave’s journey has ended after living with ALZ for 10 years. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, from 9-10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at German Lake. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Richard Jorgensen, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s German Lake Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Le Center area Veterans Honor Guard.

Arthur Joseph Jindra, age 87, of Montgomery, died on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Mala Strana in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. with Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. all held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery with Fr. Timothy Sandquist officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Military Honors provided by the Montgomery area Veterans Honor Guard.
