From there, she continued her studies at Minnesota School of Business where she transitioned into a career in computer science and IT. She worked for multiple companies including Damark and Medtronic.
Eugene J. “Gene” Simon, age 93, of New Prague, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Praha Village, New Prague, MN. Gene was born November 23, 1932, at the family farm near Veseli, to Bohumil and Ludmilla (Kalina) Simon. He attended a country school near the farm and later Catholic school at Most Holy Trinity. He graduated from New Prague High School in 1950.

Harry grew up in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for six years. Following his military service, he moved to Minnesota, where he worked at Motorola and later at Control Data in electronics. While working there, he met his first wife, Marilyn. Together they built their home and began raising their family.

Richard “Dick” Bresser, age 75, passed away at his home on May 16, 2026. Dick was born on March 7, 1951, to Robert and Marjorie (Bobo) Bresser in Canby, Minnesota. He grew up with older, twin siblings, Roger and Sheila. In high school, he developed his strong work ethic through his part time jobs and being on the wrestling team, qualifying for the individual state tournament twice. Dick started dating his soul mate, Linda, his junior year of high school.
Donald J. Novotny, age 83, of New Prague, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026.
Donald was born on January 11, 1943, to Joseph and Mary (Tupa) Novotny. He was raised on the family farm alongside his ten siblings and was the second oldest of the family. Don attended New Prague High School and, after graduation, worked for a short time before being drafted into the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era.

LeRoy A. Skok, age 88, of New Prague, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026.
LeRoy was born on September 21, 1937, in New Prague, Minnesota, to Albert and Florence (Dahlberg) Skok. He was raised in New Prague and graduated from New Prague High School. Following high school, he attended Dunwoody College to study carpentry, where he developed the woodworking skills that would remain a lifelong passion.
